Personally, I have already broken three pieces, and each one lived for between four and eight months. However, after some time, the sound simply stopped coming out of one of the speakers. My acquaintance experienced the same thing, and two of the parts snapped off. In most cases, the contact in the plug or in the fork will wear out and disappear. Some craftsmen, in order to extend the life of these "ears," tie knots on the wire in the most vulnerable places in a particular way. I find it hard to believe that a company operating at this level has not figured out how to produce soldering that is reliable, especially considering the volume of feedback they receive, which indicates that they are aware of the issue. This is just a pig of an attitude toward the customer, in my opinion. They probably improve sales by decreasing the shelf life of an otherwise desirable product in order to attract more customers.
