After two RRODs (Red Ring of Death) on my console, I realized I needed something other than the big plastic feet on the bottom of the Xbox. Forcing Microsoft to build the perfect Xbox was out of the question. Enter the Intercooler TS, it uses a separate power supply which is needed as the other one they made was specified for the Xbox RROD as they used direct power from the Xbox. It turns on and off based on temperature, not just when the Xbox is turned on. That's a nice plus. My console is getting cold. It's loud, but you don't usually notice it unless you're watching a movie on an Xbox. I ended up buying the Elite and since it was white (they make them black now) I scrapped it when I decided to fix the unit's fans. . The problem is that the fans were noisy because the bearings are noisy. After I couldn't stand the loud noise of the bearings anymore, I disassembled the unit and applied a small drop of oil to each of the three fans (tear off the fan sticker to get to the hole, and don't add much oil a tiny little drop here ). This buzz started from the moment I started using the cooler straight out of the Revain box. I'm sure I could send the device back to Revane, but I really didn't want to bother with it. So watch out for fan quality control issues. After a minute the sound went away and I didn't do anything, but I was worried that something bad was happening to the fans. The "Oil Fix" worked fine now, only now and then my fans make a louder noise. Painting was easy with the case fans and it looks perfect just paint the back and mask off. Now it looks like their black one they sell. I would buy again but locally so I could return the cooler with no problems if the fans were bad.
