So the tape I got is great (not fully opaque, everything in the background shows up. It's still paper tape) but I got the tape with the rounded one Tool pressed over the area a few times after I got tired of peeling and pressing it with my fingers. Pieces shorter than 3 inches or so will still delaminate over time, and I think the edges still tend to unravel over time. generally terrible, but not really suitable for my purposes, and there are many washi tapes in the sea.
