I am a professional electrician and here is my opinion. I bought this puck light kit to replace some of the 20 watt halogen pucks in the butler's pantry. The 3000k is ideal for halogen bulbs and the 2w LED is a great replacement for the 20w halogen. These products are exactly the same size. like the ones I removed to allow the hole to fit perfectly. I love the plug and play feature, which means all cables have factory connectors and a jumper to plug them into. No connections may be made with wire nuts, pliers or similar. The transformer plugs into the outlet, which in my case was just above the cabinet. This is a set of 3 but I only had two washers cut in the closet. So I decided to put the third one on top of the cabinet and face up. I think it was a very good effect. Now the back. This kit comes with a dimmer module between the transformer and the bridge. This dimming feature is great. Works very smoothly. However, there is a wall switch that turns this outlet on and off. When this wall switch is cycled off and back on, the dimmer module defaults to the off position. In other words, every time I turn the wall switch off and on again, I have to climb stairs to turn the light back on. on the dimming module. So in my scenario the dimming module was useless. A mains transformer will not work with a wall dimmer so they are on full brightness all the time. This is fine in this setup, but some people will probably want the dimming function to be easily accessible. I suppose if you want a wall dimmer you can get a dimming transformer and install it with no problems. Attitude, this will have a 5 star rating from me.
