We recently had to replace the blanket due to water damage from a hole in the roof. Our attic is crawling with red wasps, and when the ceiling collapsed, 30 red wasps flew to us every day. Plastic fly swatters broke and wore out, so I was looking for a more durable fly swatter that didn't need to be replaced every month. I found this leather fly swatter. It seems durable as I don't think the leather will wear down any time soon. The only issue I can foresee with the durability is the wooden handle. When hitting something with this fly swatter, you must be very careful to hit only with the end and not the handle, otherwise you can easily break the wood. Although the skin perfectly protects against wasps and flies. It destroys everything. The holes are big enough to let air through, which bothered me. It's hard to tell the size from the photos, but it's the same size as my standard plastic fly swatter and hanger. See my attached photo for comparison. The only downside of this fly swatter compared to the classic fly swatter is after you kill the bug. I always use a fly swatter to assemble the fly swatter by laying the fly swatter on the floor, slipping it under the bug, pushing against the wall so it's on top of the fly swatter, and then tossing it in the trash. This leather fly swatter is thicker than a regular fly swatter and its size makes it much more difficult to get under a dead bug. Shame I took off a star but I still highly recommend this fly swatter, even just as a topic of conversation. Four stars.
