Review on Silicone Comfortable Breathing Exercise Protection by Christopher Isaac

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The lowest rating of the three braces I've tried. Maybe not as advertised. Doesn't fit well on the nose.

This is the third type of mask holder I have tried; If it was the first I might think they don't work and never tried the others. I've only tried them under cloth masks, not pleated surgical masks. I have a medium sized nose, an oval face and a wide mouth and I wear glasses. As mentioned in other reviews, the material is sticky on the skin; it makes the conversation difficult. I haven't tried using baby powder or anything else to reduce stickiness. (I don't wear makeup; it might make the material less sticky.) Other silicone braces I've used are stiffer but still flexible. This is VERY thin, soft and flexible. If you've tried other silicone inserts and want something softer, these might work. In my opinion the silicone material is stiff enough to be used under sheet masks - together they were stiff enough not to fall inward. The point that really deducts some stars is the nose-to-nose fit. The product description states that this brace separates the mouth and nose, but in all the pictures the top of the cage goes over the top of the nose. The edge that goes over the nose tapers to a thin edge, but the material curls in the wrong direction (at an angle to the skin, not to the side) and is uncomfortable. To wear it under your nose you have to fold the top of the cage and it's clearly not meant to be worn like that - it just doesn't fit. As others have said, the scope and volume of this mount is small. I didn't have enough room to open and close my mouth while speaking, mostly because the material was so sticky it pulled on my skin when I tried to speak. (I think my face is pretty average.) Can't say how it holds up with long term wear because I couldn't fit it well enough to even try. Hardly worth returning, I might try cutting one off to fit the nose area and see if I can get it to wear well enough to be wearable (at least to leave in the car with a spare mask) . Side loops that usually hold the clip to the mask; I haven't had any problems with them. As mentioned, they fold in half in a plastic ziplock bag, but mine was not deformed or damaged. May be suitable for people with narrow faces and those who find other braces too stiff.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
