Ripped at the seam after only 2 socks

I've only worn them twice and the seam ripped. They are loose so they shouldn't tear. Judging by the way they tore, it looks like the seam was stitched wrong. I am extremely disappointed. I'm 5'4" and they were longer than expected, closer to pants than capris so short women should consider the length. They would be good for hiking and gardening.
