No more hmmm! Amplifier installation information

Quick note: The item pictured is a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other. The product description is wrong. My problem: I had annoying hum from two different speakers (Bose Companion 5 and an older Creative Labs 2.1 system) on two different computers. I have used several "shielded" cables. I've tried making sure the speakers and computer are plugged into the same outlet (I read somewhere that this might help with the ground loop). NOTHING WORKED. ! I even turn the volume up to maximum and no hum. Amazing and simple solution.
