Our friend is 15 years old and has severe body stiffness and mobility problems. I needed an option for him that was stable on the ground and didn't have edges for him to move around on. Self-heating was also a major benefit. The bed isn't very big, but it's perfect for him (he weighs 18 pounds). I put him on the floor where he likes to lie and left. Came back a few minutes later to find it snuggled up! We've only had it a few days so I can't comment on its durability or ease of cleaning.
