Very bright sealed unit, easy installation, DOT approved, not made in China!
Excellent device. It's made in Taiwan, not China, and is DOT certified. The LED is fully encapsulated in epoxy and isolated from the elements. It also has drainage holes. The installation is quite easy. I wanted to move my truck trailer license plate, made a custom mount and it was the perfect solution to being legal (the law requires the license plate to be illuminated at night). The only downside for my application is that the unit's rear studs are designed for installation in a dry location (usually behind a back door). I didn't have one so I painted the rivets to make sure they didn't rust. The pins are galvanized.
