Fur. There are many great things about this sofa. This is a firm but not hard landing. The fabrics appear to have a shelf life of over 6 months from delivery (and that is the use of Covid-19). The wooden frame is indeed evenly varnished. Tufted buttons are forgiving of mistakes. I'm 1.80 m tall and I can stretch. I have a small apartment and it fits without taking up space or visually taking up too much space. The packaging was amazing. My West Elm dresser was/was not packaged well. Couriers brought it to my apartment, which is not on the street but on the second floor. BUT the seat back angle is too high. It's just uncomfortable. The pillow really helps because the angle of the backrest is so slanted. I bought it for $400 (special covid lock?) and wouldn't buy it if I sat on it first no matter the price. And a clear NO if full price.
