The connector does not fit into any of the USB ports on the back of my iMac

Connector does not fit into any of the USB ports on the back of my iMac. Why is he so small? My current Logitech mouse has a suitably sized connector that fits perfectly into each of the USB ports, but unfortunately it's not a quiet mouse. Other aspects of this Macally silent mouse feel nice, especially the soft click (it clicks just enough for me to hear, so I know it clicked); It's just a part of the connector that's too small to fit in the USB ports.
