We have a medium sized dog that has never used a dog door. I'm very glad I didn't glue anything before he could fully use it because he kept scratching around on the screen like it was a regular door and CLOSED the bottom corner. But now (in a week) it's easy to use. However, it has fallen off a few times with normal use, so I think the gluing step is a must for all summer of use. If I replace the screen again I will use frame glue. Sometimes just the swing door will fall off, and sometimes the whole assembly will fall off. I still think it's a better option for a pet than screen doors which should have magnets to close the screen after your dog goes outside. Our 2021 "Magic Mesh” purchase that I tried previously left large gaps for bugs to easily fly through. . Also, putting the pieces together was difficult, I had to clap my hands and snap the pieces in between to snap them into place. One final note: the English guide on the Revain website proved more helpful than the bundled version.
