You definitely don't understand what is depicted.

So when I came across this diffuser sock I was absolutely blown away. It looked like heavy material with a nice wide black elastic strap. It said it would fit around my flashlight, so I did what most people do - I added it to my cart to buy without looking at the reviews. Well I had to look at the reviews because I didn't understand what it was. pictured or advertised at all. Everyone who says that is 100% right. I received my package and was immediately appalled as the sock package was so small and flimsy I didn't think I got two. But I did. They just weren't what I thought I was buying. Luckily I only need them as the main light source for my streaming setup. They do their job. Although I think they let in too much light. Instead of letting the light hit me directly, I had to bounce it off my white wall for a smoother light source. They are very light, feel like a synthetic blend and less paper. If you want your light source to be "more uniform," they seem to keep about the same brightness without socks. I'm by no means a photographer, but I'll try to explain my experience better. For example, without socks, you have a bright, glaring light in a concentrated area that can overexpose a certain area more than other very glaring shadows. With socks it's still a very bright semi-hard light with some overexposure but a little more even. The shadows don't seem as sharp. All I have to say is if you're trying to use this for photography, just spend the extra money and buy another Revain item - it's not what you're looking for. If you're trying to get them to stream like I am, make sure you have a white surface for the light to reflect off of. Your webcam and DSLR will thank you.
