Place this in an upstairs guest room where space is limited, so this lamp works great as it doesn't protrude as far from the wall as most other wall sconces . Bought a dimmable LED light bulb, works great. My guess is that it doesn't have a built-in lightbulb that you can't replace. There were no problems installing it, but if you want detailed instructions, the ones describing what to do are very simple (i.e. won't be very helpful if you don't know how to assemble it at all) . I would like the base of the lampshade to be more secure or use the bulb as an anchor to hold it.
