Easy Way to Make Ethernet Cables

After trying unsuccessfully to make cables with different connectors, these cables are a life saver! It takes a lot of practice to properly line up individual strands for CAT6 without a guide or pass-through connector as I haven't figured this out and have made other types of cables in the past so I'm not a beginner. to something. I used 24AWG CAT6 cable and it's quite narrow so I'm not sure 23AWG will work well with these connectors. Here are my usage tips: 1) Remove the outer shield from the CAT5/6 cable and remove the pair lead in the middle if you are using CAT6 or higher. Keep Google it to see photos of this step. Removing 1 to 1.5 inches should be sufficient. 2) Place the guide in the fork to set the orientation, then flip the fork and let the guide fall out to make sure you've pushed each strand in the correct order. 3) Insert each strand into the guide and pull as far as possible after all eight have been inserted. sit right at the end of the connector when it's plugged in. If it seems to be tightening go to step 6.5) Continue pulling the strands through the guide, you may need to use pliers to pull this out, then go back to step 4. 6) Trim off any excess strands into the end of the lead perpendicular to the end of the lead using wire cutters (i.e. cut straight across to avoid crosstalk). 7) Insert cable and insert into connector. 8) Crimp the connector. 9) Repeat steps 1-8 for the other end. cable and test the cable with a cable tester before plugging it into an outlet. In step 4, try to position the guide close enough to the shielded portion of the cable so that the shielded portion is snug against the retaining tab. in the plug, which prevents the cable from moving in the plug. I also recommend buying connector covers to keep the cable from moving inside the connector.
