I like using chenille mats under my dog bowls. I like that they absorb water and can be thrown in the washing machine. They usually absorb enough water to keep the soil underneath from getting wet. The Bone Dry blanket works just as well as my more expensive version. I almost feel a little cheated when I think about how I paid double the price for the same type of rug a few years ago. I have this rug in blue and it's a light color. Every monitor calibration is different, but on my monitor the color in the picture looks the same as it does in real life. The rug is soft and well made. It should be noted that this rug has no backing so it is possible that if the rug gets wet it will become damp enough to damage hardwood floors. Overall I find this type of pad effective, and this particular version is good value for money.
