Review on Sony HDR CX230 Definition Discontinued Manufacturer by Alex Solano

I recently had a Kodak Play Touch camera stolen and was about to buy another when last week I saw that this camera was only $30 cost, and opted to go with him instead. The next day after the purchase, the price increased by another hundred! So whether it was pricing coincidence or just my lucky day, the price I paid has a lot to do with how I feel about this product, which is reflected in my star rating. If I had paid more I probably would have lowered my rating by one star. let me explain. This HD Sony Handycam is large and very light. It has 8GB of internal storage and there is room for an additional 64GB with an SDHC card. It offers HD playback via HDMI and can record videos and photos. The controls are fairly intuitive and easy to use, and the included manual does a very good job of getting you up and running quickly with this camcorder. Connecting to your HDTV or PC is easy, and you can view and transfer files with ease. This camcorder can also create standard definition discs using an AV cable (not supplied) to a disc burner (not supplied). HD images can be saved to an external storage device using a VMC-UAM2 cable (not included) without installing any software. Disappointment. This camera needs to be treated with more care than expected. Much less reliable than touch or even button navigation. There is no connection for an external microphone. The built-in audio is good, but it would be nice to be able to do more. Attempting to charge from a powered hub's USB port didn't work. I had to use an AC adapter with a USB port to charge the device (not included). Integrated USB 2.0 cable instead of the faster USB 3.0 standard. Sony states during installation that you must download and install their software over the internet to use this product, but this is not required. - You have to go through the menu (multiple steps) to view the video you just recorded, compared to a single button press to view it like most digital cameras. Conclusion: If I had paid more, I would probably look for more, including an AC adapter. Since I bought this item at such a low price, I am very happy with it when I want to do school plays, video reviews and home videos. It shoots very good HD video, I just wish the build quality and navigation were a bit more up to date.
