I got this device as a gift a few months ago and just took a class to learn how to use it. Turns out Cannon removed the pin from the hot shoe mount, making this camera compatible with third-party flashes. So now I have a good and cheap camera to learn from, but I have to pay more for Cannon flashes than for a cheaper entry-level flash. I would have traded it for something else if I had noticed that beforehand.
