So happy to find these for my 9 year old husky. He's tall, but it's hard to find comfortable husky jeans that are comfortable and look good. Everything is straight and too baggy, and still a bit cozy. It's so comfortable and the nice tapered legs look stylish and don't drag on the floor. My son is tall for his age and weighs about 105 pounds and we chose a size 12 based on measurements. We mainly used waist measurements. Since the legs are tapered, it's ok if they're a bit longer as they'll still sit right over the foot. I definitely plan to buy more of these for school next year. Wonderful! I will say the tie above is a bit annoying because he won't tie it! But I think I can just pull him all the way out and the elastic still stays on his waist. I'm still deciding how to handle this, but I tend to just pull the cord. Next time I'll probably buy laceless jeans, but this pair was a bit cheaper and I wanted to see how I liked them before spending more. I should also mention that the fit of the torso is a bit odd, because he likes it pulled down, sort of "mid rise" to keep things a bit baggy around the hips. And the pockets stick out weirdly. However, if he leaves his shirts open, it really doesn't matter because they're not like her. Definitely I will take some with this kind of belt so everything should be ok. Perfect fit from the waist down. ****UPDATED**** Unfortunately they shrink quite a bit in the wash after only five washes. Also, they disappear quite abruptly. Although they were brand new, they quickly went from a dark washed color to a light stonewash color and from a sensible skinny leg to a very skinny pair of jeggings.
