My first experience with Govee failed!

Govee is a new brand for me. I have a few other brands of light bars that I base my review on. My goal was to have a light bar that matched the color temperature of my desk lamp, which is 5000K (daylight). Since I saw that the application can adjust the color temperature of white from cold to warm, I decided to try it. Here's what I found: Cons: Govee is noticeably darker than comparable light strips in the same price range. I have a Govee at max brightness and my other "unbranded" light strip is easily 3-4 times brighter. It is not possible to get a true white color. 7500,000 See photo. There's an in-app white balance option to increase or decrease the temperature, but even if you try to crank the color temperature up to 5000K, it has a purple tint to it. See photos. Looks like I also have some bad LEDs that don't match the rest of the strip. See photos. You have the option to use the color wheel to choose custom colors, and the box claims 16 million colors. (Obviously white isn't one of them lol). So when you get close to white on the selector, there doesn't seem to be a way for you to keep that color choice. So if you choose another option, you can't go back to the next color match and have to keep trying to find it. The UI on my other strips seems much more intuitive and allows you to easily save custom colors to come back to. Pros: - The glue was great! - The price was a little lower than other brands. - If you are looking for a basic color sequence, you can create it in the DIY option. Govee looks pretty good in a VERY dark room as long as you don't try to match the color to anything. Overall: I will not take this brand again until they make some improvements. I would rather spend a few bucks more for better quality to meet my needs.
