Seiko 5 Review SNK789

The Seiko 5 watch line is a welcome addition to a line of watches with a colorful past and a bright future. The Seiko 5 SNK789 is a great watch featured on watch blog hodinkee.com. I bought this watch to add to my growing collection and have been enjoying it for almost 3 months now. The watch itself is just a pleasure to look at. From the eye-catching red second hand to the simple but sleek date and weekday window, this watch looks more expensive than $65. The bracelet is a Seiko Oyster Link bracelet with a snap button clasp. The strap is one of my favorite parts of a watch; not too tight but flexible and light. Speaking of weight, this watch is very light and at times it can feel like you're not wearing a watch at all. The watch measures 36mm, which is very small by today's 40mm standards, but the watch doesn't feel that small when worn on the wrist (especially on my small wrist!). The brightness of the clock is also quite good, it can be read in a very dark theater or room depending on how long you leave it in direct light. In general, a beautiful thing that attracts attention with its subtleties. The case is made of stainless steel and has a simplified design. Turn the watch over and you will see the 7s26c movement through the case back. The same movement is used in the flawless Seiko SKX007, Seiko's finest dive watch. Caliber 7s26c is fairly reliable, with an error of -/+ 5-26 sec/day. My clock runs about 24 seconds faster, so I reset it from time to time if I don't let the clock die. All in all a great mechanism in a great watch. This watch is beautiful and good for beginners. In my opinion nobody becomes a true watch collector until they own at least one Seiko. If that excels you, start there and work your way up to the SKX007J, or go big with a watch from the major Seiko or Prospex lines. I recommend this watch that really looks like a million bucks for under $100.
