I love this adjustable lap table! My neck always gets numb when I look down while reading, and my hands hurt when I hold heavy books in my hands for a long time. I've been looking for a table like this for a long time, but haven't found a suitable one. I'm SO glad I took a chance and bought this one. The construction, functionality and aesthetics far exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it! The wood is beautiful and the finish feels silky. All the hinges and hardware seem really strong and durable. It is easy and quick to open, close and adjust the angle of the surface. The hardware is very solid and seems like it can take quite a bit of weight (I wouldn't hesitate to put a heavy textbook on it). It is comfortable to hold on your knees thanks to the cushion at the bottom. I've noticed that some reviewers say it's too heavy to carry on your lap, and while I think that may be the case for some people, I had no complaints. It doesn't feel heavy to me, even with a book on top and a few magazines and accessories inside. But obviously everyone is different so I'm not trying to discredit what others say. I like to read and write in bed or on the couch. I think it would also be great for long reading sessions at the table. One of my favorite features is the large storage inside! I can easily store a book, magazine, pens and stationery in it. I like that my stuff is right here, easily organized and kept in one place. They were very well packaged with protective foam so I think unlikely to be damaged during shipping.
