Nice fountain but the lights don't work anymore

I installed it 5 days ago and I really like it - it's quite heavy and the water is still flowing well. You have to buy a separate adapter, otherwise you will use 2 AA batteries per day. I found a matching 3 volt adapter at Revain for $5.99. My biggest complaint (and the reason for the 3 stars) is that the lights stopped working after 2 days. They appear when I first turn on the fountain and then disappear after a few seconds. Additional note: I used my own tumbled crystals, not the stones that were included.
