Review on AKRacing Office Series Opal - Ergonomic Fabric Computer Chair: πŸͺ‘ High Backrest, Recliner, Swivel, Tilt, Rocker & Height Adjustment, Black (AK-OPAL) by Sonja Garcia

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Moderately overpriced chair.

I'm honest. I bought this chair with high hopes that it is what I need. In the end he didn't satisfy me and had to go back. It has very strong and very weak sides, which I think should be considered by the manufacturer. Pros: - Convenience. The chair is comfortable and has nice upholstery. In that respect it's probably 4 stars. - The extra pads fit great and offer great feel and support during long work/play sessions. Unfortunately, this chair's potential is limited by its very important flaws. Cons: - The wheels are very bad. I have had several chairs and have never had any problems with them. I've almost fallen over twice with this chair and I'm not super tall or clumsy. The wheelbase feels too small for the frame, and it's prone to skidding/staggering if you put on a bit more weight while dragging the chair under the table. I have other large chairs at home that don't have these issues. The armrests are very wobbly. They don't snap and don't have a locking mechanism. They succumb to the slightest pressure, and it seems that the more you give them, the worse it gets. The swing mechanism is terrible. It has no tilt lock. A good recline locking mechanism seems to be the main feature of a high end chair, but the recline mechanism on this chair is the same as the regular office chair I use at work. price for quality. If this was a $150 chair I wouldn't be writing this as I wouldn't expect much from it but for the premium price I think the manufacturer could add a good wheelbase and tilt lock mechanism. Neutral: The fabric of the chair is just average. It feels a bit rough. Not critical but for such an expensive product I expected it to be slightly better than soft fabric. Conclusion: I have owned several gaming and office chairs over the years and had high hopes for this chair as it was the best. the second most expensive I've bought. My biggest gripe with this is that despite having a price tag, it doesn't work as a premium chair. The chair itself appears to be B+ but the rocker, armrests and wheelbase are designed for a much smaller chair and I give it a D. These parts are barely passable and I find that very disappointing. I have a GT Racing Speed at home that costs just under $100, which is fine for the price. My other chairs are the secret labs of Omega and Titan. Although they cost about 100 more, they are totally worth that extra 100. You're a league better than this chair. Just choose Softweave and you'll be spot on.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Obsolete model
