I was looking for winter boots that would survive the northern Maine winters that I could afford and afford so as not to feel left out when my son outgrew them after 2 months. It was a great purchase. He loves her. They are true to size. The bottom of the ankle is covered/rubberized to keep feet dry. The upper has an elastic closure that prevents snow from getting inside the boots. They work as needed, and as a bonus, he's the only one in the class with a color/style so he doesn't mix them up with the other 20 pairs of boys' winter boots waiting in the hallway at school.
