I have tried Lucas Oils Slick Mist Tire and Trim Shine. Over the years I've transitioned from Armor All to Meguiar and then back to Armor All, including some experimentation with Eagle One and a few other "tire shine" brands. I use Lucas lubricants and oil and fuel treatment products religiously and have never had anything but brilliant success. So why not try their car care products? In the summer months I'm used to getting about 3-4 days of decent work after a tire treatment. due to the hot, humid climate, heavy evening and night rain, and 85-100 miles of daily driving. I've used Slick Mist on four different vehicles. It's of a good consistency - thick enough to stick to the applicator and "stick" to the hoops, but not sticky and sticky. It seems that it absorbs just enough - not lying on the surface and not dissolving into the molecular structure of the earth - even in the hot, direct sun. I think it looks great. It doesn't shine too much on tires so if you like a shiny wet look choose another product. Slick Mist (applied as directed) leaves a smooth, satin finish. Even on very chalky, faded, oxidized plastic, the black comes back and stays. Slick Mist doesn't streak or stain like other products I've used on the same surfaces. And most importantly, I get excellent rubber (a little less on hard plastic) in 8-10 days. As an unofficial, unintentional, and very unscientific test, I got overspray the first time I used it (about a month ago). on my paved driveway. These spots stood under the scorching sun, under the pouring rain. They've been played with hot basketball, tons of hoops rolled over them, and they remain - two big patches of overspray, clear as day. It's tempting to do the entire driveway to see if it holds up better than traditional caulking! A month of use and wear and tear on all four cars and I'm amazed at how well the blacks have stayed black. Unless Lucas changes the formula for the worse, or my tires suddenly disintegrate (which I'll update my post for!), I will never use anything else for my tires or outer plastic/rubber. I was surprised and am 100% satisfied. ****UPDATE (August 2015) --- I've attached pictures of one of my cars (a 15 year old truck) after THREE weeks of rain and shine with no change. Contact with rubber/plastic. I hope you can see the tires look great as does most of the plastic. The front bumper cover has the typical whitish "silicone" stripes and the rear fenders have some streaking, but I'm absolutely amazed at how well this stuff is holding up.
