Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Olympus VN-1000 Digital Voice Recorder: Clear Recordings and Convenient Features by Bobby Montoya

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great recorder, limited features

I bought this recorder to record a series of interviews. At maximum quality you can record 3 hours, at the average level - 7, and at the lowest quality - 13 hours of recording. I set it to medium quality and it was great. He picked up the interviewees' voices clearly, although on one occasion he also caught a TV in another room. You must point the top of the recorder directly at the subject you want to record so that background noise does not interfere with the recording. He can get a conversation out of his pocket, although he will be a little weak. I skipped the manual due to its length, but it only took me about 10 minutes of playing around with the device to understand most of its features. It's definitely easy to use and small enough not to distract anyone. It's easy to mistake it for a cell phone. The digital display is convenient and easy to understand. 2 flaws - and they can be fixed by spending a little more money on the next stage of this device. 1 - The indexing feature only allows ten indexes per entry. For interviews longer than an hour, this was NOT enough indices.2 - I didn't think the lack of a USB connection would bother me, but after transcribing the interviews I really wish I could rip them straight from the Computer play instead of constantly returning to device pause, back and forward. In general, the device does exactly what it describes, and does it well. But I think some will find that they prefer a few extra options in their recorder.
