This jacket has its advantages and disadvantages. I'm 5ft 5" and 120lbs and wanted a small but got a medium that fits but is square. carry almost a box. On the other hand, small might be too small in certain areas like arm length and jacket length. Do your arms look short and angular but at the same time feel cramped? I'm not sure how to make it clear, but it feels tight and loose at the same time, and I think that's because the fabric is very stiff. The buttons are very difficult to fasten and unbutton, which seems like a minor issue, but it's annoying and time consuming. You will need large buttonholes or buttons that will work with heavier fabrics. The front pockets are too small and therefore rather unusable (see my photo with my hand in the pocket, it's as wide as my hand!). Move the pockets away from the front seam, deepen them and this will solve the problem. As another reviewer mentioned, the buttons on the collar are visible, which doesn't bother me too much, but yeah, it's something to keep in mind. The hood is soft and deep, making it 100% usable on the head. The jacket smells almost like gasoline or strong chemical solvents upon arrival. I just threw it in the wash but first impressions were a bit nasty. Overall, I'd like it to be more personal and not so short. Suitable for people with a short torso and short arms. But it's not short enough to be considered a short jacket for the rest of us longer-chested folks. It's square and not that flattering.
