It was Tuesday and I picked up my Zune remote off the floor. After an unsuccessful attempt to promote the title on the Zune player, I concluded it was a glitch. Hitting a Zune remote on a hardwood floor disrupted its operation. (Prospective customers should be aware that the periodic effects of putting down a Zune remote can render it unusable.) Fortunately, I have a computer that is connected to a networked system called the Internet. It's too much to explain here, but this machine allowed me to buy a new remote control to replace my broken one. Three days later, which I thought was very quick, a new Zune remote arrived in an envelope in my mailbox. Since the device already had a battery built in, I was able to slide the song from The Clash, Guns of Brixton to Dylan's Simple Twist of Fate onto the stereo. Life was good again. Thanks to the internet.
