I want a stylish mid-sized clock that glows in the dark and can read in my home theater in the dark from 12-14 feet while watching movies. This watch did not live up to my expectations so I will be returning it. It can be easily read in a lighted room from at least 12 feet away. But in the dark it can be seen clearly and dimly at about 5 feet with good visibility, but it can be distinguished at 5 to 8 feet and probably no more than 8 feet as it is too dark. It's backlit so the face glows with a gray-white light, somewhat bluish (probably a long-life LED). The clock and alarm are powered by a single AA battery, so you don't have to worry about power outages. For the backlight to work, connect a very energy efficient power supply to the clock with a cable. I haven't tried the alarm clock, but it's a basic analog watch face with no snooze function. The watch looks durable enough to last for many years, but the alarm button may not be durable enough for many years of daily use.
