Ideal for power outages. Small batteries can power this fan for several hours. I bought a fan especially for this. I was concerned based on some other reviews but my fan arrived safe and sound. I was very surprised at how much air it moves and how little energy it uses. The motor seems light and cheap, but I've run it 5 days in a row and it hasn't let me down. I'm impressed enough that I'll be buying more for the rest of the family.
