This is the original standard cartridge with this model number. Completely new. Remember that the discounted price is mainly due to the cartridge being purchased through the cartridge return program. When it's ready, you'll need to send it back to Lexmark. The box comes with a prepaid UPS return label and you can use the same box. Update 12/2010: About 3000 pages are printed without any problems. It is impressive. Update 11/29/2011: The second cartridge printed 3600 pages before I had to replace it! The last 100 pages weren't perfect, but they were fine for draft printing. I only printed black and white documents - Word and PDF files, no images or maps. This impressive performance allowed me to further reduce my cost per page and made me more respectful of Lexmark toners.
