Our cat is about 7 years old and she has transitioned with no problem. She actually wanted more from this meal than her previous meal and it was hard to get her to finish the old meal. She was on a prescription diet for dental problems (stomatitis), but after all her teeth fell out there seemed no reason to keep her on the prescription diet and the vet agreed.
