I really like this design. I've been wearing them for three days, several hours a day, to service and replace rotating sprinkler heads. I have a lot to support. It's hot in Texas in July so I wear them with shorts. Like anything worn next to the skin, it causes slight irritation, but nothing compared to the more traditional models that close behind the knees. Placing the padded upper buckle over the part that protects the knees when kneeling greatly improves comfort. I get up and down and walk back and forth a lot many times a day to turn the controller on and off during adjustments. The pads stayed in place all day and I only had to make a few minor adjustments. got used to them. I am very happy with the fit, feel, durability and value of these lasts and therefore recommend them.
