As someone who has always suffered from gum sensitivity, the idea of using an electric toothbrush has always struck me as both unsettling and perhaps harmful. But in vain. After giving Oral B Professional Care 500 a shot, I came to the conclusion that this is the best option available to me going forward. When you brush your teeth with a regular brush, but you press on the brush because it seems that the harder you press, the better you rub, and the cleaner your teeth will be - and as a result, my gums bled after almost every cleaning. When you brush your teeth with an electric toothbrush, you don't have to press as hard on the brush as you would with a regular brush. That did not make any difference even when I used brushes with softer bristles. And today, for the first time in such a long stretch of consecutive weeks, thanks to Oral-B Professional Care 500, my gums are not inflamed, my teeth are spotlessly clean (particularly in the areas of the back teeth that are the most difficult to access!), and my smile is brighter than before. The brush, in addition to its other features, is able to maintain its charge for a considerable length of time (at the same time, it also charges for a considerable length of time, 22 hours), does not require consistent recharging, and can easily be stored in a small feminine pen. The timer proved to be quite helpful for me as well because it is so easy to become distracted while cleaning or, on the other hand, to rush through the task and not do a thorough job of it. It's possible that someday someone will wish to upgrade to a more advanced model, but as far as I'm concerned, this model strikes the ideal mix between cost, quality, and functionality.
