Cooler too big, bad glue on rubber gasket

These bulbs have large aluminum heatsinks on the back. Take a close look at where the lamp housing is installed in your car. Can this heatsink protrude behind the lamp housing? In my case it wasn't. When I installed the bulb in the rear light housing, the rear light no longer sits correctly. (2011 Ford Transit Connect.) So I can't use those bulbs. They seemed pretty bright when I connected them to the car. But they don't fit in my car so I can't use them. Also, the area where the rubber gasket on the lamp's base attaches to the aluminum body of the lamp appeared to be bonded with some sort of glue that didn't bond properly, as the rubber gasket easily detaches from the lamp. And you can see the glue that remains. I think the bulb still seals well in most cases, but it's worth noting that the glue used was poor.
