Would return if I could

While the stitches and stitch options are good, there are some issues. Comes with multiple legs and features. I received this as a gift and will keep and use my old Bernina serger but will not get rid of it. The stitch options have some nice features, like the blind overlock stitch, but there are downsides that I also consider to be safety issues. First, the lever to raise and lower the presser foot works in reverse. To raise your leg, you need to push the lever down. To lower, pull the lever up. That lags behind my other sergeants. Another problem is the width of the gap between the table surface in the overlock area and the base of the thread holder. this limits the ability to sort items that can have volumes. You get stuck. The overlock foot itself is wider than I'm used to, and that can be an issue when trying to cord-cover a pillow or item. You need to increase the stitch size because the presser foot is too wide for a normal stitch width. A safety concern for me is the overlock thread knife. When you wipe the fabric, your fingers are not protected. This is too far forward compared to the position of the Bernina overlock. I cut my finger while guiding the fabric. The way the claw door is designed leaves the knife open when closed, unlike Bernina and other brands. In these, the knife is protected by a looper door design, dragging to the right to open and reveal the loopers. The area where the knife cuts the fabric is also poorly designed due to the angle of incidence of the fabric being removed into the thread catcher. The cut thread tends to clog rather than slide down. If you want to try this machine, go to the store and try it in person before you buy it.

Pros
  • Wide cover stitches 3 to 7mm
Cons
