So my daughter bought this for the car and tried to install it and then came back and complained it didn't fit and argued for a return. That. It took me a while to look at it before realizing how it was supposed to fit in. It is squeezed between two circular ventilation slots and adapts exactly to the contours of the decorative elements. You have to press firmly to hold it flush against the dash and snap it under the air vent trims. There's a separate piece that should 'lock' it from the bottom, but that doesn't seem necessary since it's so tight. Very impressed with the custom fit and it should stay in place with no issues.
