Simple! Simply plug the computer's power cord into the "Control" jack, then connect your peripherals to the appropriate green jacks and adjust the sensitivity. Then, when you turn on the computer, it senses the need for power and automatically turns on other outlets. I have a label printer, an external DVD drive and my computer desk burns with these connectors. My only complaint (and even a minor one) is that there are only 4 green plugs and when transformers are plugged in they block access to neighboring plugs.
