It is very comfortable. I am very happy with it. It came with a fuse. He slid lightly over the plastic and opened it. I like opening them up and watching them expand. We have a bunk bed and the mattresses weren't that soft. So that extra foam went a long way towards providing comfort. Everyone is happier. And that's not much, but it provides enough comfort. We upgraded our bed in the last year and even tried building up 3-4 inches of foam and it was too firm. I thought more foam would be softer. But that's not the case. We didn't stay because it was too difficult. As we like softness and comfort we found ourselves looking at the 1-2 inch range and for twin mattresses this 2 inch mattress was very good! Didn't notice any weird smell coming out of the box so that was great. And I really like the straps on each corner to connect it to the bed and keep it in place. I am very satisfied and now have one for each of the double mattresses.
