A shovel works better

The product itself is not great, but functions at a basic level. As stated in older reviews, there are cheap tack welds holding the handle on, and there are rough burrs on the core tip.After using it once, I will say that if you have any rocks in your yard/sample area larger than the tip opening, you're better off with a clean shovel. Rocks bigger than about 1/2 inch will stop this tool in its tracks, and if you try to back it out slightly and go in at an angle, most of the sample falls out the cutout area.

Pros

This product is heavy duty. I'm impressed with the quality. Works great as well

Cons

This is not worth the money & bent on my first try using it
