Review on Pedros Chain Cleaner Color Size by Sean Copeland

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality product, great results with minimal effort

The chains on my bikes are very clean now, the result is better than my old Park Tool chain cleaner (which read "good" when new worked ). I used Simple Green on one chain and All-Purpose Orange Cleaner on the other chain - Pedro's chain cleaner worked well with both. Pros: I like the build quality and the ability to order/replace internals. The derailleur mount really helps as a third hand. I like the "click" release mechanism. A nice bonus is the reduction in the amount of solvent required. Cons: I had some trouble with the pivoting link on the derailleur side of this tool when clipping it around the chain. This made installing this thing on my road bike chain a little difficult. [Fair Game: This particular bike has a pretty tight rear triangle, so you might be fine.] Comments on neutral usage: Chain cleaners will leak a bit if your chain isn't parallel. on the ground, so pay attention to the chainline when putting the bike on a repair stand or hanging it from anything. Chains can drip after cleaning no matter how good the cleaning tool is, so put a cloth, newspaper down. , or simply clean the outside of the bike. It is usually recommended to perform a "rinse cycle”. Drain the used solvent and refill the chain cleaner with water to flush any residual solvent from the chain. Allow the chain to dry before applying any lubricant.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
