Live it's more impressive than I thought. It has a very soft texture so you can hug it, cuddle it and the like. It is also very soft on the outside and pleasant to the touch. I'm not sure if it's a "pillow". It's smaller than a toddler pillow and has an odd shape, so maybe in a pinch on a plane or car, but to me it's more of a regular, medium-sized stuffed animal. It can be chewed off by a very small child if there are children in the house. Everyone from 2 to 6 is interested. I think the shark theme helps keep it interesting for older kids too. In general I would say the quality is good and it's nice enough to give as gifts. However, it comes shrink-wrapped so it may be better if you ship and repackage it yourself as it will look and feel much better once it's been taken out of the plastic and fluffed up. I wouldn't want to pay more for a stuffed animal. Overall I would recommend it.
