I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the screws are shiny silver and look ridiculous against any color. So we ended up buying tan-black paint and varnished the screws to match the black "problem" coloring of the stools (see picture). Now they look MUCH better. The bolts were the only thing we didn't like about them and we ended up fixing that ourselves. I wish they had gone a tiny extra mile before shipping to get it finished and you can do it with any screws as I'm sure no matter what color you get nobody wants shiny silver screws vs blackened distressed chairs or you have to pay to paint and do it yourself (except maybe us). You stuck out like a sore thumb. Otherwise very satisfied with our stools!
