I plugged the USB-C end into the back of my desktop PC and then plugged in a known/working USB 3.0 flash drive which lit up but NOTHING was displayed in my Windows 10.1 Check file documents! Plugged the exact same flash drive into several different USB ports on the PC and it works great. I could detect an old USB 2.0 stick. RESULT: I received a $0 defective hard drive.
