Great kit for the price

TL; DR - This is a great starter kit and I would buy it again. Everything was well packaged and works as advertised. Some people are concerned that the plug is not US standard. It was for me, whatever the cost. As others have said, the lighting is a bit dim than expected. I put an image of a painting on my wall. The lighting was in full swing. The clear umbrellas were placed on tall stands about 3 feet from the test subject. The short stand was about 8 feet diagonally with a reflective umbrella. At that distance there wasn't enough light to kill all the shadows on the object. Out of the box, however, it definitely illuminated the subject well enough. The bags provided are of reasonably good quality, although I wish there was at least some sort of compartment to separate umbrellas from gear. My solution was to keep one of the bags that the stands came in, as well as the umbrella bags. It's not a long-term solution, but it puts my mind at ease. The lamp bag is not divided into compartments and is not lined, so save the packaging the lamps come in. Otherwise everything is neatly packed and there is not much space left. Stands are lightweight and durable. The same applies to lamps and clamps. The fittings grip very well and quickly! You don't have to unscrew everything to hold it in place, except for the bottom brace, which takes a bit more effort to hold the legs in place. Each stand came with a rubber cap to protect the lightning filaments on top. It's good. At the end of the day I am happy with my purchase. A few takeaways: - even with 9ft chords you'll need extension cords and an extension cord - keep the bags for your umbrellas - keep the bulb packaging - seems good for dramatic lighting or killing shadows in a well-lit room.
