We wanted a bone china set with a gold rim and it suits us. Ultra light and minimalist design. It is good for daily use in our house as well as for vacation. Food looks great on plates and in plates. The inverted rim adds a bit of modern design and keeps food secure on the plates. The bowls are large and shallow, good for pasta but not great for cereal. My spoon falls completely into the bowl. Due to the expected gold rim, they cannot be used in the microwave. In our house this is not a problem. We do not use a microwave. But if you do, this is something to consider. For the price I wish the cups were included. I can get a cheaper Mikasa bone china set that comes with mugs (but no gold rims). With due care, some cymbals will have a few SMALL defects near the rim, but they are not. fully visible. You can just feel them when you are looking for them. That's not a problem either as it's so SMALL and only very picky people like me will notice. The crockery was carefully packaged and in a very sturdy plain brown box. Everything was shared and protected. Very well packed. 1 star deducted for the lack of cups at the current price and the spoon falling into the bowl. Basically VERY SATISFIED!
