Pretty good jacket for the money

I've been riding this jacket for a week now, mostly on a 100 mile round trip to and from work on a Triumph 1200 XC (bare bike, no fairings). I commute in the early hours and with the lining I found this jacket good up to the high 60's. Any cooler and you need an extra layer underneath. I think with any wool sweater as a base layer this jacket is good for much colder temperatures. My drive home in the afternoon is much warmer (I live and work in the Mojave desert, so there is a big temperature difference), and during the day in 100 degrees with the jacket off, the jacket causes no discomfort. When the liner is removed, it effectively lets air through and does not flap in the wind. The sizing chart was accurate to my body type and build, with ample long sleeves and a waist that didn't ride up. Your mileage may vary. The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is that zippers are one area where the manufacturer cuts corners to match the lower price point (as other reviews have noted). One of the zip tabs on the cuffs broke in my hand when I put the jacket on for the first time. Rather than bother with returning the jacket, I simply used a paperclip to replace the broken tongue and have had great pleasure with the jacket ever since. I also threw a few extra paperclips in my jacket pocket as a precaution in case one of the other zipper pulls breaks. The rest of the clothing appears to be of good quality and construction. I only wish the manufacturer had used a slightly better zipper. Anyway, I would pay a few bucks more to get better zippers. Edit: I decided to post an update on this product. Not much has changed in my overall opinion of the jacket, but after a few months of constant use, I noticed that the buttons on the lining sleeves and one of the two buttons on the vest pocket flap had pulled out of the material they are in. pressed in. Does it really detract from other positive attributes of clothing? No, but it's annoying. As I mentioned, I'd pay a few bucks more to get better zippers; I would also pay a few bucks more to get better pictures. Vance is clearly skimping on the closures to match the price.
