Review on Adjustable 5000K 5500K Downlight Spotlight - ZDPCYT by Rich Ferguson

Not for domestic use on the ceiling. Not for art lighting, poor color rendering

These LED lights are pretty poor quality by today's standards. I used LEDs before they could be bought in big stores. The early ones were hit and miss. This one falls into the miss category. Also, unlike all other glassless flashlights, they don't have a metal box to plug into. Therefore, in most cases, they cannot be installed safely, or at least legally. You must bring your own metal box. None of the ones you can buy will fit a 2" hole, so you're out of luck. They might be good for a trailer or boat, but not for the home. The problem is not only the installation, but also that they are not as bright as other lights of this size. When mounted on a typical 8ft ceiling, they are not bright enough. Again, having a boat or trailer with a low ceiling and limited space might be okay. I tried mounting it on the ceiling and pointed to the wall directly below him to illuminate the painting. It wasn't bright enough (probably less than 150 lumens), but the color rendering is poor for these lamps, so this use kills. I would not recommend it for high color rendering requirements such as lighting artwork or photographs and not for use on a ceiling in a home. Instead, I used 3 inch flashlights that I bought from a big store. They had a better color and were lighter. I'm sure these bulbs have some utility and are cheap so I gave them 2 runs but for normal home use they deserve 1.
